Welcome to the bleeding pavement,
My home, for these fleeting seconds.
The place I lay my head to rest,
as the bullet wound continues to gush.
But here is where the script falls apart.
Where the hell is Marius?
Oh, right, my bad.
Forgot to tell him before.
Forgot to bug him enough.
So, when all of a sudden he found Cosette,
Instead of pondering my existence,
Marius found true love.
I suppose you could call me a martyr,
For giving up my happiness for anothers.
But thats a bigger lie
then what you should be telling me,
"That you will live 'Ponine, dear god above"
So, just call me a fool.
For letting you leave, and denying,
that my heart was left in two.
So, as it turns out,
the prophesy is actually true,
Because my heart lies broken,
in both ways.
Cosette never loved me,
and we can always say,
that we were secretly sisters,
despite our outward hate.
But Marius was both our loves,
and you knew to never say no,
to chase that star across the sky.
While I pretended that if I just waited,
The star would come back to me.
And in the final moments of my life,
when rain falls free upon my face.
I can feel even my sadness bleeding away,
I'm just empty.
The rain that brought you here never came,
and instead of dying, heaven blessed,
I leave this life, cold and wet.
I hope you are happy, you two.
You have life, You have everything.
