Duality

Let me destroy you utterly
and I'll kiss you sweetly

I want to rip the light from your eyes
and then grant you the brightest of my lamps

Please allow me to rend the heart from my chest
just so I may feel the healing touch of anyone

I wish to charge against the largest army of scoundrels
So that I can find peace within my breast

Let me drink poison
So I may be cured

I will run a mile
So I may sleep

Can I dance until the dead are roused
In the hopes that I may sit with the skeletons?

What is a day
Without a night?

What is your love
without another's hate?

What is hope
without this constant despair?

May my life be called such a thing
if I do not have to fight death at every corner?

I plague my soul with questions of pain
So my mind may fly free with answers of anesthetic bliss.
